Here are some of our favorite smoothie recipes to try for summer.
This simple smoothie recipe packs the goodness of creamy yogurt, tangy kiwis and fresh strawberries. You can also add a teaspoon of chia seeds for an extra dose of protein, iron and fiber.
Ingredients
-1 cup plain yogurt
-1/2 lb. strawberries fresh
-1/8 tsp vanilla extract
-2 kiwis
-1.5 cups ice
-1/4 cup honey
This veggie smoothie combines fresh cucumbers, carrots, tomatoes, spinach and celery and is a great source of fiber, vitamins and minerals.
Ingredients
-1 1/2 cups tomato juice
-1/3 cup carrot juice
-1 stalk celery (with leaves)
-1/2 cup spinach leaves
-1/2 cucumber (peeled)
-1 cup ice
-Garnish: slice of cucumber or celery stalk
This bright, vegan smoothie combines mangoes, pineapple chunks and orange slices with chopped bananas and coconut water.
Ingredients
-1 orange, peeled and quartered
-1 ripe banana, peeled and sliced
-1 cup coconut water (or fruit juice)
-1 cup frozen mango chunks
-1 cup frozen pineapple chunks
-(optional: 1 teaspoon chia seeds or ground flax seed)
Add to your daily fiber and protein intake with this smoothie made with spinach, avocado, almond milk, green tea and raw honey.
Ingredients
-1 cup spinach
-1 1/2 cups almond milk (or more/less according to tastes)
-1/2 medium avocado
-1 kiwi (peeled)
-1 tablespoon matcha green tea powder (or more/less according to tastes)
-1 tablespoon raw honey
-1 teaspoon vanilla extract
